Best underlay for laminate flooring

I’m laying laminate over a concrete floor. Do I need a special kind of underlay for insulation and moisture or will the cheap stuff do?

Best is to use crumb rubber underlay it’s moisture resistance

At the least use fibers boards or xps boards. The thin stuff on a roll is a waste of time. If you want the best stuff you could use timber mate wood underlay

Cheap stuff will do the trick.

B&M bargains do a cheap fiver board underlay that is exactly the same as what you get from the likes of B&Q.

Also, if your I’m it installing the laminate in a wet area, B&M laminate flooring is actually pretty good for the price.
