Can cornices be replaced?

Is it feasible to repair cornices or if a part breaks off should that section simply be replaced? Can it be repaired or/and replaced DIY?

"yes you can repair it you just build it up slowly or you can get it made and put in a patch"

"Hi, to repair cornices or replace is a specialist job and id, not something a DIY person could do as its very different from coving you buy from a DIY store look it up on the web you will soon see how its make repaired."

"Cornices can be repaired, providing a dry rot or damp damage then yes it isn't a problem, but can be expensive."
