Best underlay for vinyl flooring in the bathroom

Do I need a special underlay for vinyl flooring in a bathroom? I’m planning to fit vinyl floor in my bathroom and want to make sure I do it right.

"No you don’t put underlay under vinyl flooring, just beed a good flat,smooth surface to lay it on. If not would need it either ply first or a sled Level compound to get a nice neat finish."

"If you want a moisture barrier, you can get 1mm think underlay. If you buy Vinyl that has integrated underlay this can also be used for that as an addition if you choose to. Vinyl products are fairly waterproof."

"No vinyl doesn't require underlay..if the floor boards are rough you will need to put a layer of 6mm plywood down first"

"Depending on the vinyl flooring. No underlay is required if your fitting cushion back vinyl. If your fitting Vinyl planks on a clock system the underlay may come attached to the back of the product."

"Hi no you do not put underlay under vinyl vinyl should be laid on a perfectly flat surface.if you used an underlay it would sink in the vinyl or rip for vinyl and of course problems"
