Artificial grass cost to install

I have this space down the side of my house that sees no sun and is a bit of a mess. I'd like to get it cleared up and have some artificial grass installed so it doesn't look so terrible! What am I expecting when I get quotes? Any other advice? Never had it before, but it has been recommended by some friends for this purpose

"This needs to be dug out and a layer of hardcore laid and compacted firstly. This should be done within a frame if possible. This allows for the turf to be stretched across and properly nailed down.

Depending on quality or turf my price ranges from around £12.00 to £24.00 per metre squared."

"u could maybe prepare the space yourself (remove rubbish, old soil, weeds, level roughly) before hiring for the turf install — that might save you some money (if an installer offers a “supply + fit only” option).
• However — don’t attempt a “cheap job”. Because of drainage/ground issues and narrow access, it’s worthwhile to let a professional do the sub-base and turf-laying properly, else you risk problems down the line (drainage, uneven settling, weeds).
• When you get quotes — treat them as you would quotes from clients: compare line-by-line to ensure you’re comparing like-for-like (same spec, similar base prep, waste removal, etc)."

"Why not opt for porcelain instead of artificial grass? It's a long-lasting solution, looks beautiful, and is easy to clean."

"A lot depends on what's currently there. So if its just a muddy patch, then digging out and a proper sub base to be laid, then screeded compacted sand and then the artificial turf gets laid on that, nailed to a wooden outer frame. Artificial turf also varies greatly, from £8sqm to £40sqm. I suppose you would be looking at around £40/50sqm plus the cost of the turf. Hope that helps."

"The installation costs depends on what groundwork ect is needed.
If you have real grass down or stuff needs digging out that's a full job.
you are roughly looking at £60 per square metre for materials and labour"

"Hi there the cost to install artificial grass could be around £50-£100 per sq m depending on what preparatory work needs to be done and the quality of artificial grass. Other options to keep the pathway clean and clear would be paving which would be more however would be lower maintenance and last longer.

Hope this finds you well best regards
