Are stainless steel gates more expensive?

Are stainless steel gates significantly more expensive than mild steel gates? What are the key advantages of stainless steel gates over their mild steel counterparts?

"Stainless steel is more expensive than mild steel so the price for SS gate will be higher. However stainless steel will not need painting if you like natural grey colour also it is not going to get rusty over time. Mild steel has to be painted with good paint for outdoors or powder coated for better results. Powder coating prevents rusting but can be expensive."

"Stainless steel is more expensive than mild steel but also depends on the design of the gates and what sizes you use. However the steel will last longer as its more durable and weather resistant on its own than mild steel which will need to be coated. Hope this helps"
