"Normally a pipe fitter will do the pipework. Maybe a pipe fitter /welder.
To do 6G normally means you have a coding (been tested and certified).
If you get to this level you will have answered most of these questions.

Pipework can be drawn isometric/line just to make it easier. Its normally taught how to read and implement as an apprentice along with fit up etc.

Its normal to be skilled in a pipe fitting trade to be doing this type of work"

"A simple and cost effective way of aligning pipes is achieved by using an appropriate size straight angle iron and 2 chain grips. Set the root gap with shims )I generally make my own root gap shims from various diameter filler wires) and start with the root run. Other alignment/fit up gear used is the chain block and hoits to hold in possition, very safe and effective.

6 G has many challenges, some including the weld behaviour at variable angles, body positioning, location of weld and size pipe. I have had good experience with big pipe welding jobs, 1 of which was the entire fire suppression system on a New Zealand based factory trawler. Another was a steam pressure vessel in a plywood factory.

Blueprints are generally fairly easy to read if done correctly, we have delt with a vast array of designs and plans in the some twenty year experience in the trade."
