"Anodising of aluminium is a process of which the aluminium goes through an electrochemical process to achieve its protective layer."

"Anodising The anodising process generally consists of four primary stages

Surface Preparation: The metal is thoroughly cleaned and etched to remove dirt, grease, and minor surface imperfections.

The part is submerged in a bath (typically sulfuric acid) and acts as the anode. An electric current releases oxygen ions, which combine with the metal atoms to form a microscopic, porous layer of metal oxide.

Colouring (Optional): Because the newly formed oxide layer is highly porous, the metal can be dipped in dye to achieve various cosmetic colours.

Sealing: The metal is boiled in water or treated with chemicals to close the pores, locking in the colour and maximizing corrosion resistance.

Depending on the application, several methods are used:

Type I (Chromic Acid): Provides a very thin but highly effective protective layer; commonly used in aerospace.

Type II (Sulfuric Acid): The most common method; ideal for general corrosion resistance and creating dyed finishes.

Type III (Hard Anodising): Produces a much thicker, denser layer used for maximum wear and abrasion resistance."

"Aluminum with an anodized layer (oxidised layer)

Anodized aluminum is the aluminum with an anodized layer, which is created through an electrolytic solution where the metal is immersed in, the anodizing layer is grown from the metal itself. With the layer, anodized aluminum got enhanced visual effects and functions."

"Anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates a protective, decorative, and durable oxide layer on a metal's surface"

"this is done to give the aluminium durability . it is a process not a coating?"
