Hello all, We are looking to have a patio-esque area in our garden by using slabs. We don’t know if we are best to use paving on these areas as they are or whether we should have a cement layer applied for the area. If anyone has any recommendation or experience with this type of thing, please let us know. Thanks!

Hi I am planning on getting a wall built soon. I already have materials for the builder to use (bricks, cement, sand and footing), which should be enough. The wall will need to be 7m long and 2.5m tall. Would anyone be able give me an idea of the approximate time it would take to complete? Or how much it would cost for the builder’s labour and time? Many thanks

Hi all I am looking into getting a new outdoor swimming pool installed in my garden soon – it will be a reasonable distance away from the house and be well within my boundaries. Will I need planning permission for this? Will I need to meet any other regulations/permissions? Any info would be appreciated!

Hi all, I have a wooden door which is due to be installed in my porch soon. Does anyone have any advice for what type of paint I should be using on the outside to protect it from the weather over the long term. Is it something that would need treating or repainting annually, etc?

Hi We are hoping to have an extension built onto our house. We have been recommended a local architect to speak to before getting any builder quotes, but we have also been told that a structural engineer might be all we need rather than an architect. Do we need an architect specifically or will a structural engineer be able to handle it with a hired builder to complete the work? Or even, could a builder do the job of all three?
