Costs involved in replacing one joist support

Hi, I had arranged for a joiner to lay a herringbone floor but upon checking the floor it was springy in one section. The joiner believes I may need a new joist support or a new joist. Does anyone know if this is a big job, what’s costs are involved and how long it will take to repair. Thank you.
