Who actually fits an extractor fan in a bathroom?

What type of tradesman is the best for the job? Is this something a decent plumber could handle, or would they stay away from this work?

"Hi,
A decent sparky will be able to fit your bathroom extractor.
Its not the most difficult of jobs ,but you will need access to loft space (if upstairs)
Or an outside wall if downstairs"

"Extractor fans would normally fall under electrical work. An Electrician would be required to install a bathroom fan. Some plumbers do hold a Part P Electrical qualification, which allows the qualified person to carry out minor adaptations to electrical circuits. If they do, then they may be able to install."

"An Electrician is the most qualified person to handle this. Since bathrooms are "special locations" regarding electrical safety (water and electricity are a famously bad mix), the installation must comply with building regulations."

"The fan is typically fitted by electrician not plumber.
In uk falls under part P of building regulations.
Qualified electrician is ideal for the job
Bathroom fitter or multi trade can do it only if they are Part P registered."

"Plumbers may or may not do it, depends on the person. A handyman like myself or an electrician are fully capable of installing a bathroom extractor fan."

"Either a competent handy man or an electrician or someone competent in home DIY it's not a big job unless it needs a spur"
