Which is easier to hang, paste the wall or paste the paper wallpaper?

I would recommend a paste the wall wallpaper as it is easier to hang and trim and it is a non woven paper so there is no shrinkage.

You normally paste both wall and paper.  A light / thin coat/watered paste on walls  and then a coating on paper. Allow the paste some time on paper to absorb. Normally gives you all the details on the packet of paste

Paste the wall is easier for a beginner to hang because if you don’t evenly paste the whole of the drop on paper you get lifts and more bubbles than usual.
Remember to size the wall at least twice with a cold water size before hanging your paper if it is a plastered wall.
