Where to use foil backed plasterboard

I'm drylining a garage wall that gets quite cold. Is foil backed plasterboard the right choice and does it go foil-side in or out?

"Yes the Foil side goes in and you are left with a facing plasterboard"

"You could try insulated plaster board on the walls the thickness depends on how much you want to keep the heat in"

"Yes you can use foil backed plasterboard on cold garage walls

Good uses
garage conversions
cold external walls
rooms needing extra insulation layer

Foil position
foil side faces the warm side inside the room
this helps reflect heat back in

Do not use it in areas with direct water exposure"

"This is not the correct way if you are trying to make the garage warmer…
You will get Cold spots on al areas where you have put the adhesive.
I would recommend studding the whole garage, insulate in between, staple vapour barrier to the stud afterwards and then you will be able to use normal plasterboards."

"You will have to build a stud wall and insulate between the stud works and if you can afford it put insulated plasterboard over. What you have suggested to use is not a good idea

Regards."
