When to replace gas boiler

Should we replace our gas boiler before the law changes in 2025? Our boiler still works but it's almost ten years old and I'm worried about what we'll do if it breaks after that time.

"Combination boilers are now made hydrogen ready. All new combination boilers are A rated and are about 93% efficient. This means they actually use less gas as an older one meaning you save money."

"Hi Jackie, generally it is good practice to replace a boiler once the warranty has expired, this is because the parts within the boilers are generally tested and last around this time.

It is better to buy a new boiler with an extended warranty rather then having the tedious chore of replacing all the parts within the boiler. This can work out to be just as expensive as replacing parts, and unfortunately personally speaking I do not give guarantees on repairs as other parts can potentially also give problems once a repair has been completed. Once the warranty has expired the engineer should in 1st instance direct the consumer to purchase a new boiler."

"How longs a piece of string. Unfortunately some boilers go for 25+ years, some last 5. Keep up with services etc."

"As long as you keep up with services and maintain boiler should run for long time"

"The new rule only applies to new builds, if they ever implement it...."
