"The correct mix for rendering is 5 parts rendering sand 1 part cement and 1 part lime it also good to add waterproofer or plastersiser or you can get a render mix additive which has both"

"Standard external wall:
Ratio: 1 part cement : 5 parts plastering sand 1 part lime
Optional: Add plasticiser to improve workability"

"I find 4 parts sand and 1 part cement works well.. Fine silver sand provides a strong durable finish. You'll need an additive such as 3 in 1 placticiser waterproofer and retarder."
