What should be done with waste concrete and washout water?

We’ve finished a small pour and there’s still some wet concrete left in the mixer. I've been told this can't just be poured away, but then how do I deal with it?

"Spread concrete out evenly and let it go off. Come in next day and break up .spoil can be used in a base or simply skipped or stored for later use."
