"You need to acquire a structural drawing to confirm with building control how you are going to support the rest of the chimney above or remove the complete this.
you will then need to apply for a seven day notice to the local authority to allow them to check the removal a points of the work allowing you to continue and cover in the structure after work has been carried out to the structural engineers drawing.
Drawing £2300-£500 building control cost may vary and builders cost also will vary based on structural work required."

"You won't need a building regulations application to just remove the stack above the roofline. However you will need a building regulations application to remove all of the chimney stack throughout the house as the stack may support walls, floors or the roof structure."
