"It’s when you take all the branches off and just leave a stump, some trees you can do it to others you can’t, it tends to be done with Timber production for fast regrowth, but once done it needs to be done regularly"

"Coppicing is a way of managing trees, would cut the tree down and leave a high stump. The stump would then send out shoots which would start to grow and eventually over time you would have several branches growing out the side of the stump and they would get bigger as time goes on and become trunks.

This process is done in woodlands as a way of managing trees. Typically this is done to species such as willow, hazel etc.

The length of time that it would take to grow back would totally depend on the species"
