What does it cost to remove asbestos ceilings?
We've got artex ceilings in our 1970s house and a survey flagged possible asbestos in two rooms. Is it priced per room or per square metre and is it always full removal or can it just be skimmed over safely?

"To remove a ceiling asbestos you’re better off taking the full ceiling down and re-boarding the ceiling and then get a plasterer to plaster."

"Low risk: £50 to £150 per m². This applies to lower-risk, bonded materials that do not easily crumble, such as corrugated cement garage roofs or textured Artex wall coatings.
High risk: £100 to £300+ per m². This is legally required for high-risk materials that easily break into dangerous airborne dust, such as Asbestos Insulation Board (AIB), sprayed coatings, and pipe insulation.
Would be between £1000-£1700
It can be skimmed over but Would never recommend as not safe for next person or trades people doing works afterwards or if you go to sell may come up"
