What does a natural swimming pool cost to build?

We've got a big garden and love the idea of a natural pond style pool with plants instead of chlorine. How do they compare on price to a normal pool?

"If you mean a proper natural swimming pool (a swimming area with a separate planted/biological filtration zone), in the UK I'd roughly budget:
Small/basic: £40,000–£60,000
Typical domestic pool: £60,000–£100,000
Large/high-end: £100,000–£150,000+
A lot depends on the size, excavation, retaining walls, liner/construction method, filtration system, planting and landscaping."

"That’s an interesting idea…..in reality they are difficult to maintain…..although not impossible, you do have options but plant life in water will always produce algae through photosynthesis…..salt water pools are a good option, and are good for your skin…..

……but ultimately people like the water to be clear and clean to swim in…..to achieve this the water chemistry needs to balance…."

"A natural swimming pool (also called a swimming pond) is usually more expensive to build than a standard chlorine pool, mainly because it needs both a swimming area and a separate regeneration zone filled with aquatic plants and filtration media.
Typical UK costs are:
Small natural pool (30–50 m²): £60,000–£100,000
Medium natural pool (50–100 m²): £100,000–£180,000
Large, high-end designs: £180,000–£300,000+
For comparison:
Standard in-ground concrete pool: around £40,000–£80,000
Luxury concrete pool with heating, covers, and landscaping: £80,000–£150,000+"
