What can I do about bubbling and peeling wallpaper?

Hi, I’ve noticed bubbles and peeling sags on my living room wall. What can I do about this? Should I hire a painter to fix this? Thank you.

"If your paper is bubbling it is usually caused by high levels of moisture or possibly dampness behind. Most decorators will carry a damp meter or can be purchased reasonably cheap online which will tell you if the wall behind is damp. Could also be from outside poor pointing/ cracks in render etc."

"This could be either lining paper or plaster.

Depending on age and condition it could be repaired or will need removing and replacing."

"It’s normally because the glue is old and the paper needs stripping and redoing it needs replacing, you should definitely hire a decorator."

"Hi, you will need to take it off and put a new one on. It bubbles because there’s too much adhesive behind and the air is trapped in there and peels because there’s not enough adhesive behind"

"The best thing to do is to just sand it all back where it’s bubbling, then re-paint if it persists then buy some special paint"
