Tips for using long, thin tiles vertically

I like the new trend of tiling thin tiles vertically, but I'm worried how easy they are to stick on the wall in straight lines all the way up. Any tips?

"It's just as easy.make sure ybou run a straight line up the wall.and the most important thing is that the adhesive is spread evenly.use a good spreader and then gently push on."

"I try to put some grid lines on the wall to module tile and joint sizes. Always keeps a straight line."

"You should start with a straight (Plumb) line but then work your way from each bottom corner! As if like building blocks, so stagger them as you go to the left of the line and the the right, always making sure you're staying Plumb with the centre line. Presumably you'll be tiling like a vertical brick wall! So you would cut a load of half tiles first ready to apply on you bottom course."

"Hi, I would recommend you to use a long straight edge, the whole length of the area. The best tool to use for this would be a longer spirit level. Do you have any pictures of the area?"
