Tiling on plasterboard

Can I tile straight onto plasterboard? I'm worried the tiles won't stick.

"Tiling on plasterboard is probably easier then anywhere else it can definitely work and will stick just make sure you use a batton if your tilling from half way up"

"You can but it needs to be primed first or in a wet area it needs to be green boarded however tanking in a wet area is always advised"

"Yes, you can tile straight onto plaster board, if it has been plastered then you will need to prime it."

"Yes. You can tile directly onto plasterboard, just make sure to use an acrylic-based primer. Once the primer is dry, you can then apply a powdered adhesive."

"You can tile on to plasterboard as long as you've primed the area"

"You'll have no problem at all.
If you're tiling a " WET AREA" you must use green moisture resistant board at very least, its advisable to coat regular plasterboard with PVA @ 50% mix with water. If it us a WET AREA you must coat it with an appropriate WATERPROOFER otherwise you'll find over time the boards will rot,tiled area will leak and you'll have to rip it our and start again."
