"Tiles have a far longer product life.
Still multi panels come with a thirty year warranty these days, so in my opinion it'd be a case of what's cheaper to get fitted.
Personally I hate the multi panel look in a domestic setting but each to their own."

"Good quality multi panels ie the wood ones are about £300 per panel.
Tiles can vary in price a lot.
Multi panel in plastic are Ok but quality is not there.
Depends on your taste. Also if you have a built in shower valve then you cant dig it out to replace it if you have panels.
But if you have a Bar valve then this is not an issue.
as an installer of all I havent had the feedback on how wellthey last.
Panels are easy clean and supposed to be more mould free"

"Tiles:

Customization: Tiles offer a wide range of design options, including various colors, patterns, sizes, and materials such as ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and glass. This allows for greater customization to match your aesthetic preferences and design scheme.

Durability: High-quality tiles, especially porcelain and natural stone, are known for their durability and longevity when properly installed and maintained. They are resistant to water, stains, scratches, and fading, making them suitable for high-traffic areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

Installation: Tile installation can be more labor-intensive and time-consuming compared to multi-panels, especially if intricate patterns or mosaics are involved. It may require professional installation to ensure proper waterproofing and grouting.

Maintenance: While tiles are relatively easy to clean with regular maintenance, grout lines can accumulate dirt, mold, and mildew over time, requiring periodic scrubbing and sealing to prevent discoloration and deterioration.

Multi-Panels:

Convenience: Multi-panels, also known as shower panels or wall panels, offer a convenient and time-saving alternative to traditional tiles. They come in large pre-fabricated panels that can be quickly installed over existing surfaces, reducing installation time and labor costs.

Waterproofing: Multi-panels are designed to provide a seamless and waterproof surface, eliminating the need for grout lines and minimizing the risk of water damage and mold growth. This makes them particularly suitable for wet areas like showers and bathrooms.

Hygiene: Without grout lines, multi-panels are easier to clean and maintain, as there are fewer spaces for dirt, mold, and bacteria to accumulate. Simply wipe them down with a mild detergent and water to keep them looking fresh and hygienic.

Limited Design Options: While multi-panels come in a variety of colors and finishes, they may offer fewer design options compared to tiles. If you're looking for intricate patterns or specific tile materials, tiles may provide more flexibility in achieving your desired look.

In summary, tiles offer greater design versatility and customization, while multi-panels provide convenience, durability, and easier maintenance. Consider your priorities, budget, and the specific requirements of your project when deciding between the two options."

"Panels are a lot cheaper however the tiles will have a much nicer finish. The boards whatever quality you get will have a plastic finish. Personal opinion I would go tiles"

"Panels are easier to maintain with a simple wipe over with no tricky grout lines to clean. However a good quality glazed tile is just as effective. Installation of tiles are usually more expensive as it is more labour intensive than fitting panels."
