Tile Adhesive for 600x300

Looking to tile a bathroom feature wall with 600x300 porcelain tiles.
Any recommendations for best/ most commonly used tile adhesive and advice to go for ready mix or self mix would be much appreciated. Thanks

"So many variables my friend.
Is the wall waterproof as in Wedi board or concrete board? If just normal plaster board then take it off and replace with either of the above. Make sure you seal the joints and screw holes. Then waterproof all of that with some kind of Redgard membrane or similar.
Then it must be a self mix adhesive. Topps do a good cheap one. Use a notch trowel 10mm for the wall make sure you keep the troweling in the same direction as in all lines going vertical or horizontal. Then back butter the tile. Pretend it’s a slice of toast. Use the smooth side of the trowel to cover the side facing the wall, then push it on keep it level and give it a good tap. Clean it up and move on to the next one. Take ya time it will be worth it. (If you have any cuts? dry fit them before you put adhesive on the wall so you don’t get covered in muck) clean as ya go you’ll be good as gold. If it all goes to shot give me a shout il come fix it for ya 😂👌"

"Use a powdered (cement-based) tile adhesive, not ready-mixed.
Why? Porcelain tiles are dense and non-porous, requiring a stronger bond than what ready-mixed adhesives can provide.
Ready-mixed adhesives are generally only suitable for small ceramic tiles on walls, not for porcelain or large-format tiles 1.
🔧 Recommended Adhesive Types
Look for:

Flexible cement-based adhesive (e.g., C2TE S1 classification)
Rapid-set or standard-set depending on your working time preference
White adhesive if you're using light-coloured grout or tiles (to avoid shadowing)
Popular brands in the UK:

BAL Rapid-Flex One
Mapei Keraquick S1
Ardex X77
Weber SPF Rapid Set
🧱 Wall Considerations
Check the wall substrate: If you're tiling onto plaster, be aware of the weight limit:
Plaster: Max 20kg/m² (including tile + adhesive + grout)

Plasterboard: Up to 32kg/m²

Tile backer boards (e.g., HardieBacker): Even higher capacity
If your tiles are 10mm thick, they may exceed the plaster limit. In that case, consider:

Replacing plaster with tile backer board
Overlaying with 6mm tile board screwed and glued to studs"

"Anything bigger than 300mm x 300mm you should use self mix, and BAL products are as good as any."
