"External wall insulation is effective on the u values but can often cause condensation inside the house it can also alter the appearance of the house dramatically I would prefer a good micro porous render and finish that dries the existing walls out for good u values .
Mastercoat can advise"

"External wall insulation is the better option but I'd also look at internal insulation and also get a specialist surveyor out to actually go though the best option for your situation regarding heat loss"

"External wall insulation is better however it is likely to cause condensation and potentially causing more issues in the long run internally. Personally thermal wall render is the better option"

"It would better to look internal first. As it's easier to trap heat in the inner walls than the external walls. There is arguments on both sides for both it all depends on application"
