Shower temperature knob sticking

My shower's temperature knob doesn't work very well, making it hard to turn and adjust the hot water. What's the likely cause?

The likely cause is build up of limescale , sometimes you can clear it sometimes the shiwer needs replacing , it can be a time consuming job and cheaper to just replace it -

It needs dismantled, cleaned and lubricated. A fairly straightforward job for a decent DIY person

Possibly strip down and clean failing that mate it would need replacing

If the handle is stiff to rotate without the cartridge, then it is possible there may be some build-up within the handle preventing it from rotating smoothly
