Repairing damaged walnut veneer

How do you repair damaged walnut veneer on a table? It's chipped away at one edge and is starting to lift.

"I woul Sand it first.
.fill any chips or cracks with wood filler .
Sand it smooth
stain the wood so it matches.
then veneer again"

"depending on the damage there are a few way to deal with things you can remove the whole veneer with heat and a scrapper, or knife out the damaged area and replace these section but you need to clean all the surface before regluing"
