Renewing the fence

The boundary fence on my property is dividing my garden/drive from a very busy road (east Lancashire rd) who is responsible for the fence me or the council

"Generally if your stood outside looking at hour front door, you are responsible for fence on left and neighbours to your right. End of garden can be either yours or council. I would check ."

"I would say to save a long dispute, just accept responsibility do the work then chase the council to maybe go half’s etc"
