Refurbishing Stairs

We have a typical 50's built semi with a blockwork half wall instead of spindles on the stairs. We would like to change this to spindles and bannister. Is it a job for an experienced DIYer? If not, roughly how much would it cost to get in a tradesperson?

""As stated in other posts this is trades person not someone who does DIY.

Cost determined on ease of removal and size of what is being removed / rebuilt.

The price is certainly in the thousands not hundreds.

As has also been stated before waste is a major consideration in the project and cost of project.""

"You could do this yourself just make sure the stud work is not supporting stairs or around 500 to get done"

"The purpose of waterproofing is to FULLY water tight. It s true you can patch it, but When u patch a part , you are creating an extra joint and that is a potential crack and future leak.Do it right please, and redo the all the floor with upstand."

"Yes, you can use a combination of slabs and gravel for a permeable driveway covering 5 square meters."
