Radiator Heating Fault

Hi

I have a gas combi boiler and one of the radiators is heating at the top, is lukewarm at the bottom with the pipe below the lockshield valve also lukewarm.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the potential cause?

Kind Regards

"Potentially sludged up, is it upstairs or downstairs the radiator?"

"Hi Brad
Most likely cause of this is an airlock in pipework, or system may require balancing"

"Hello this sounds like a flow issue , could be a pump issue or a blockage in the radiator

When you have air in the system the top of the radiator will go luke warm but when the bottom of the radiator goes luke warm its a flow issue

I hope this helps and we are always happy to take a closer look"

"Make sure your boiler is NOT running get a radiator key and open the end of the radiator that has a square end open it with the key and let all the air out keep the vent open until a good flow of water comes out the close the vent with the key power up your boiler and chech the radiator is getting hot

"Possible blockage, may need to flush the radiator and add an inhibitor. Try bleeding as well"

"Heating system might need balancing but also sludge or airlock"

"Hi, first check if there is air in the radiators, try to balance the system with valves if dose not help power flush systems and change some radiator valves. 100% will help you to make warm your house."

"Cause of problem is just breakdown of the radiator, water reacting with the ferrous(steel in radiator)causes sluge. Best solution would be to close both valves and take radiator off and clean it out the correct way would be to have your system power flushed also would make sure that the magnetic filter is clean preferably done by an engineer during service and then inhibitor to be put in to help prevent the erosion process."

Go down open rads one at a time . Job done"
