Does a power shower require different drainage than a standard shower?

No, a standard 1”1/2 waste is fine, failing that there’ll be an issue with the fall

You should be ok with the same size drain, on new installs I normally would recommend 2inch pipe for a big shower head on a shower.

No as long as the waste pipe is 41mm then it should handle the power shower

At least 1’1/2 inch pipe work with suitable waste and trap , the same as most standard shower and baths

Providing existing shower has at least 40mm waste pipework this will be absolutely fine, never had a problem updating showers from gravity to pressurised in regards to water waste.

You do not need to change the drainage as it will be the same
