Moving the kitchen

Hi, I would like to know a rough estimate in time & money, that it would be to move the kitchen from the back of the house into the current living room at the front of the house.

There are no walls to knock down, nor is it a listed building. The boiler can stay where it is. It's a 3bed semi-detached house & basically want to swap the rooms to meet our needs.
Appreciate your time answering my question, thank you.

"Depending on drainage access to mains and upgrading electrics .also fan extraction and ventilation. Should be 2-3 weeks works and roughly £6000 to £7000."

"it would depend on what spec of kitchen you go for. The pipes also vary on where the nearest feeds are to come of for water and waste pipe work. there is then the possible issue of electrics as the board may need updating to meet current regulations. but rougly id say 10k"

"Hi Louise

Do you have any pictures and sizes? How many electrical sockets are required and is there a drain available at the front of the house"

"For a typical 3-bed semi, moving the kitchen to the front room (with no walls to remove) would usually cost £8,000–£12,000, depending on finishes and layout. This includes plumbing, electrics, making good, and fitting the new kitchen.

It would take around 2–3 weeks to complete."

"Block up existing doorway under stairs + make good

Create new doorway on left side of the corridor wall

Likely non-load-bearing, but price includes a lintel if needed

Frame & plasterboard wall above new & old openings

Enclose under‑stairs area for storage with stud wall + storage access door

Finish plastering, plaster skim, and skirting/architrave trim around new openings

Basic painting finish to match existing décor

💰 Price Estimate (Labour + Materials)

Block up old door £200 – £350
Cut & form new opening £350 – £550
Lintel installation (if needed) £120 – £200
Stud wall & storage enclosure £350 – £550
Plastering & finishing £250 – £450
