"Monocouche is traditionally a pre-coloured, one coat render.
It is no worse for the environment than any other render.
It is after all a cement which components are quarried. Cement made by heating lime, sand and clay and then ground into cement powder.
There might be issues there with environmentalists?...how they make and add colour pigment might be another issue however these days modern standard building companies are conscious of their environmental record and tend to use environmentally friendly components where they can.
It could be argued that by monocouching you are actually reducing the carbon footprint as it is traditionally one coat and that it is already coloured needing no decoration.
I personally consider it no harmful than any other render......."
