Measuring stairs carpet

I’d like to fit new carpet on my stairs but I’m unsure how exactly to do the measurements. Could you explain to me how I can do this, step-by-step, what tools/equipment will I need and how can I double or even triple check that my measurements are correct?

"Hi. It’s very simple to fit a new carpet on the stairs, you just need to measure exactly the step and cut the carpet for every step separate. Get the best glue for carpet (ask the dealer for the best glue for your kind of carpet). Put it on the stairs and then cover it step by step with your already measured carpet ."

"Hello there, When measuring straight stairs - measure the width of the step then measure from the back of the top riser (where it meets the previous step), over the nose (edge of the step) and down to the back of the next tread (where it meets the next step). Similar to turn stairs however you will have to measure turn stairs individually and you will need to measure the width and depth of each step at its widest point so that the carpet covers the whole step. All you need is a measuring tape and a pen to jot down the sizes."
