Is rainwater better going into our drain or a soakaway?

Does a drain or a soakaway tend to be better at getting rid of rainwater? We've had increasingly heavy rain showers and I'm wondering what we can do to future-proof our home.

"Hi Greg from my experience you will
Need to notify the local water board if you discharge a storm drain in to the foul drainage as it can over load the main sewer. This can normally cost you a fee.
It’s best if previously on soakaway to replace the soakaway. Depending on ground conditions.
Also space .
Cost effective re route to drains."

"Hi if you have surface water drainage then the water should be directed to the outlets or gulley's .If you have a soakaway system then that is your only option.Only put your rainwater into a system if that's what you have never put rainwater into a foul drainage unless you have n old drainage.Hope this helps"

"100% into a drain the only time a soakaway is needed when drains aren't available and even then you need test excavation to see what the dispersal rate is. We at kc drainage specialise in land drainage so give us a call"
