Insulation in cavity wall

My wife has been in contact with a company about replacing cavity wall insulation, through a government scheme its all went through but they didn't turn up and when she phoned they said it had been marked done as done and now have arranged to come out another day, its an ex council house 2 bedroom, to me am unsure now after that call she made, does anyone know about this is it worth doing or is it going to cause problems down the line

"I would keep phoning them. But if you’re in a position to get it done yourself it’s definitely worth it."

"Hey. Best to do some research on the type of product you are receiving. Any insulation installed will help save money long term. Make sure you get a guarantee. Best I have seen is closed cell polyurethane. Moisture cannot pass through.
Hope that helps."

"Hi
I would definitely do more research on it and ask what company is doing it and what kind of insulation they are using?? Also check if you have a cavity in the property as some old buildings are 9” brickwork with hardly any cavity at all have it checked as well

Hope this helps
Very best wishes"

"Cavity wall insulation dose not work building control no longer support having it done
You’d probably be better off contacting your local building controler and getting advice from them regarding installing your home"

"From my experience of people getting cavity injected into cavities, it doesn’t always fill all the voids and some customers who have had it done it’s caused damp problems from cavity bridging plus it can rust wall tiles."

"Good evening,
I'd be inclined to do a bit of research and perhaps contact your local building authority to see if they can shed any light on this. From my own personal experience, and I'm no cavity insulation expert, there are many benefits to having this done, providing the correct material is used. I'm not too sure what it's called but a moisture resistant one is available. I'd be 'politely forceful' with the installer too if you know what I mean by that. Insist on as much info as you can from them and then perhaps take that info to your local building authority for advice. Hope this helps.

Best of luck."
