"If its a gas cooker it should have a flexible hose fitted with a bayonet fitting that pushes in and twists to seal into the gas pipes bayonet.
If there is no bayonet on the gas pipe or its a new hob you need a gas safe engineer to install it.
If in doubt get a gas safe engineer to connect it and test it for safety."

"Get a gas-safe engineer to do the installation for you"

"When it comes to connecting a hub to a gas pipe, safety should always be the top priority. Gas-related installations require precision, adherence to local regulations, and a thorough understanding of gas systems to prevent potential hazards like leaks or improper connections that could lead to dangerous situations such as gas leaks, fires, or explosions.

Firstly, consider consulting a licensed professional, such as a certified gas fitter or plumber experienced in gas line installations. They possess the necessary expertise and knowledge of local building codes and safety standards required for this kind of work.

Before any installation begins, the professional will assess your current gas line setup to ensure it's compatible with the hub you want to connect. This evaluation includes checking the gas pipe's size, condition, and suitability for the specific hub you intend to install.

They'll employ specialized tools and materials to safely connect the hub to the gas pipe, typically using fittings and connectors specifically designed for gas applications. Proper sealing and securing of connections are critical to prevent leaks and ensure the system's integrity.

Additionally, during the installation process, they might need to shut off the gas supply temporarily to complete the connection. This requires careful handling to avoid disrupting gas service to other appliances and ensuring a safe shutdown and restart of the gas supply.

Post-installation, the professional will conduct thorough tests to verify that the connection is secure, and there are no leaks. They may perform pressure tests or use specialized equipment like gas detectors to ensure the system's safety and functionality.

Remember, attempting gas line work without proper training and certification can pose significant risks to your safety and property. It's crucial to entrust this task to qualified professionals who have the expertise and understanding needed to handle gas-related installations safely and in compliance with regulations."

"Hi you will need a Gas safe registered engineer to do the hob installation for you. Best way to do this is search Google. Make sure you send pictures of hob and pipework where it is to be attached. Or arrange an appointment to view and quote. Hope that's helps 😊"
