How much to plaster over an Artex ceiling

How much would it cost to plaster over an Artex (Stipple pattern) bedroom ceiling that is 3m by 5m?
The ceiling has been tested and is Asbestos free (with certificate).
Would it be cheaper if I were to smoothen off the Artex first?

"No don’t touch it, leave it to a pro and the price should be around £150"

"You can double layer ceiling but it’s risky double coating plaster becomes too heavy and it just falls off after. I would recommend new plasterboards over artex and plaster it, if not bothered about mess and cost of the job remove it completely and put new plasterboards on ceiling and plaster it. I hope this helps. Thank You"

"I always suggest overboard and skim on Artex reason being you can not guarantee that the plaster will not fall down if you don’t overboard then skim"

"I would skim it for £200 wouldn't bother boarding it, give it a good scrape first"

"You would not need to smooth it off first, apply a product called blue grit, allow to dry then plaster over the top, I would charge £200 including materials."

"Good afternoon
I would not recommend over plasterer artex
The finish results don’t come out as expected
I would highly recommend overboard any ceiling
Were possible it’s might cost slightly more but the finish results are better for decorations
Kind regards

"Hi I would recommend boarding the ceiling first to guarantee lasting finish and also plaster has got a chance of not sticking to the artex once it starts harding up for this I would charge £300 including materials"

"The cheapest and the best way is to scrap Artex and prime with a special preparation for plaster, then apply the amount of plaster accordingly. In this difficult period, the exercise price is £180 Thanks Darex"

"Hi,
labour and materials £230 and you won't have to scrape off.

If you need to know anything else please ask.

Thanks,

"Yes it would but going rate to have it skimmed is £150"

"No it would not be cheaper to make the artex smother first, any plasterer that arrives would do this anyway even if you'd already attempted that.
An average quite for a ceiling this size would be of around £250 in the London area."
