How much does a man cave cost?

We have a long garden and I'm thinking of building a completely separate man cave at the bottom of it. I know prices can vary depending on spec, but I'm looking for rough costs for different spec hideouts? I'm going to finance this so rough is fine just so I can assess if it's feasible. I'm located in Manchester if it makes a big difference. Also, if I got this booked in Jan do you think it'd be possible to have it done by May/June?

"Hey Greg,

That sounds like an awesome idea! Prices do vary a lot depending on what you want, but roughly speaking for Manchester:

For a basic finish with electrics and insulation youre looking around £13k +
If you can stretch your budget add a bathroom and have a overall nicer finish and that can range from £18k +

If you booked in Jan, yeah, finishing by May/June is realistic. We’re Manchester-based and actually have availability from January, so the timing works perfectly.

If you want, give me an idea of size and what you want inside and I can give you a closer idea on costs.

Cheers,

"It depends on what materials you use if you’re going to use a freestanding log cabin or a brick block with foundations the size and the supply of services the cheapest you would probably find will be a freestanding log cabin for round 12,000 to a block building with all services 50,000"

"Hi Greg

Typically the building will be around £1.5k per square metre . So a 4x3m would be around £18k
There is normally a 7-10 day build time and worth booking in advance , although we dont work in Manchester there are many Garden room Installers locally.
Worth working out what tech you might want as power and data are always the issues there."

"Hello,

A man cave can vary in price depending on the size and the level of build quality you’re after.

For a 16×10ft man cave built to a good mid-range standard, you’d be looking at around £14,750, which includes water and electrical installation.

I hope this helps, mate."

"All depends on what you would like the building made from. Timber structures are definitely cheaper but are subpar to a properly built brick/block structure.

Size, what materials and access also play a key role on the price.

If work started in January there’s no reason it couldn’t be complete in the time frame you’ve stated."
