How much do UK heating engineers earn?

On average, what does a heating engineer earn in the UK, both per hour, and annually? Does it vary greatly across the UK?

"good engineers that can do all earn well but the cowboys that can only service appliances will be in the 20-25k area and unfortunately, there are alot who do the quick courses that come out and are only able to do the servicing of the most basic kind so the wage gets lower and lower for the easiest jobs"

"It can vary across the UK.
It depends on companies, being an employee or self-employed.
You can’t put a figure on it.
Some engineers qualified more than others to do more specialist jobs."

"Depends on experience. Around here (southwest) most are asking between 30-35k a year."
