How long does plaster take to dry before painting?

We've just had a room plastered, but we don't know how long we need to wait before painting. It's an external-facing wall so slightly cooler. Does that affect drying time?

"Plaster normally takes around 5-7 days but sometimes longer depends really on temperature of the room. At the moment its good weather so should dry faster.

As soon as you see it going patchy with brown bits you know its drying as the other bits will be lighter if thats makes sense and then a kind of pinky colour and its ready for your mist coat of paint."

"You can see the plaster dry out when it all goes a sandy colour and no more dark patches remain ypu are good to go water down your first coat of paint by adding ten percent of water to your paint
Thicker coats or undercoated areas will visibly take longer to dry"
