How long before I can walk on new patio slabs?

We've just had a patio laid on a mortar bed and the contractor said to leave it 48 hours but we have a busy garden! How long do you really need to wait before walking on it?

"Would highly recommend waiting the 48 hours as this allows everything to properly cure and bond other wise you risk the chance of them coming loose and creating a new problem"

"I’d say 24/48h can never be too sure and wouldn’t want your money to go to waste"

"48 hours should be fine, the concrete should be fully cured by then"

"depends on the weather, where this affects and the drying time of the mortar on the laid slabs where if it's damp you could be waiting a little longer. having a period of minimum of 2 days would be the baseline of how long to leave the slabs to be fitted in place,"

"You should be able to walk on the patio 24-48 hours after it’s laid"

"Your contractors advise was pretty sound it dose take normally 48 hours before you can walk on freshly laid paving slabs .however if there is a need to gain access this can be done after 24 hours by walking in the center of the paving slabs avoiding the corners and joints of each individual slabs. Please note this is only done for desperate situations and done at your own risk."

"When i lay my patios we can walk on them next day, depends on the bed, I lay my patios on a very strong cement bed with steel mesh in the bed,"
