"Very wise yes. If accidents happen during the moving process by a removal/moving company, they should hold insurance and liability for the goods they are carrying but this can prove troublesome or absent in some cases so check first"

"You shouldn't need to as removal companies have goods in transit so should have that and if everything is blanketed as well so should be okay"

"Yes, it's generally a good idea to have your new home insurance in place before you move in. Home insurance provides essential coverage to protect your property and belongings, as well as liability coverage in case accidents happen on your property. Here are some reasons why it's wise to have home insurance in place before moving in:

Protection from Day One: Accidents can happen at any time, even during the moving process. Having insurance in place from the start ensures that your new home and possessions are protected from potential risks, such as theft, fire, or water damage.

Mortgage Requirement: If you have a mortgage on your new home, your lender will likely require you to have homeowners insurance in place as a condition of the loan. It's essential to satisfy this requirement to secure your mortgage.

Peace of Mind: Knowing that your new investment is protected can provide peace of mind during the move. You won't have to worry about potential losses or damage to your property.

Liability Coverage: Home insurance also includes liability coverage, which can protect you in case someone is injured on your property. This coverage can be crucial, especially during the moving process when there may be more people on your property than usual.

Insurance for Your Belongings: Home insurance can cover your personal belongings, including those in transit during the move. If your belongings are damaged or stolen during the move, your insurance policy may provide coverage, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

When obtaining home insurance for your new residence, make sure to consider the specific coverage options you need, such as coverage for high-value items, natural disasters, or additional endorsements for specific risks. It's also essential to review and understand the policy terms, deductibles, and limits to ensure that you have adequate protection for your unique situation."
