Moving flatpack furniture

Will disassembling flatpack furniture bring down my removal costs?

"Id say yes if you re construct at the other end yourself, however my experience tells me flat pack furniture doesn't withstand this process very well. If you want to save a few quid and fit more in the van, I'd suggest using wood glue when you re construct it"

"Yes it will, as far as it is dismantled by you and what is required on the day of the move is just to pick, load and offload by the moving company"

"It will. The more time you spend preparing(packing, dismantling, reassembling etc) your items, the less time the team would need to spend with you and the cheaper the total cost will be."

"Yes, as your taking some manual handling away from us it'll reduce labour costs"

"If reconstructing in the new property yourself then yes. Moving costs should be lower as they are easier to manouver and furniture that is built is typically weaker and more sustainable to damage"

"It depends how many items there are, if dismantling items then means fewer trips as more fits in the van, then yes it would be cheaper. But there is no requirement to dismantle items usually, and I would not recommended it, more chance of loosing nuts and bolts etc."

"Yes because big bulky items will take more room and harder to Get out your home so it takes a lot of room on the lorry or Luton ect"
