"The best way is to use Flat Ducting that follows the route of the cupboards and then goes out of the wall. If you want you can then plasterboard over this and make it look like its just the wall and then the ducting is hidden completely."

"Hi, the answer will be dependent on context or style of extraction hood fitted...
If a standard type of hood is installed, they normally have a shell area above the internals of the extractor, which is designed to conceal the ducting enough as it runs up and out of the wall...
If a floating style hood is installed, these are a little trickier and the most effective method is to channel a smaller diameter hose into the actual wall and through to the external before bonding and plastering over it to completely hide it from view...
If neither of these are an option, typically people tend to run the ducting into the ceiling and along the cavity to the external wall, as it saves the ducting being "boxed in", which is still going to be visible anyway...
Hope this helps and good luck with your project...

"The obvious answer is boxing in the ducting but depending on how the joists run and accessibility, it can be run in the floor above the cooker hood."

"Inside the telescopic chimney part or if the extractor is inside a cabinet, the flat box ducting on top or inside the wall cabinets ."

"If you use the round pipe, better to be fixed at the back of the wall units, with cornice above usually you really can't see it, if the room is small.
If you use rectangular ducting pipes, plastic, they are only 6-7 cm high and the best way is to paint them in the same colour as the wall.
In designer way, the best way to hide pipes and all the ducting to cover it with plaster board, as boxing in L shape, or U shape in the room, or it can run all around the room. You can convert the deffect to effect if you paint it in different colour, or install some lights on it, etc"
