"No…. grout cannot be sealed but the grout itself contains sealants and waterproofing compounds. In order to be effective and durable, the old grout has to be completed removed and the areas cleaned, then the new trade grade grout reapplied.. This job is quite involved and dusty.
For grout longevity, it should be cleaned at regular intervals especially in the immediate shower area and you should have an adequate fan with override timer and / or incorporate a humidity stat fitted, to keep the damp and its effect in your bathroom to a minimum, regardless whether your bathroom has a window or not…"

"YES! You can, it needs to be fully dry. Then you can use a waterbased version or a solvent based one. The brand of choice I used is Rocatex based in Harrogate, have a Google. Hope this helps?"

"Sealing grout in a shower area is a beneficial practice that helps prevent discoloration. This essential step ensures the longevity and aesthetic appeal of your tiled surfaces. By creating a protective barrier, it significantly reduces the likelihood of staining and moisture absorption. Maintaining the grout's appearance contributes greatly to the overall cleanliness and attractiveness of your bathroom. Therefore, investing a little time in sealing your grout will yield excellent results."

"Yes — in most cases, you should seal grout in a shower after new grout has cured.

You typically seal grout if it is:
Cement-based grout (sanded or unsanded)
Used in showers, bathrooms, backsplashes, or floors

Cement grout is porous, so sealing helps:
Prevent water absorption
Reduce mould and mildew growth
Protect against stains and discolouration
Extend the life of the grout"

"Silicone sealant won’t accept sealant on it . If it’s normal grout . You can seal it but be careful it’s not left on the tiles unless they are natural stone and you want extra protection on them . Use a Matt sealant aswell ."
