Getting a nice finish on bathroom sealant

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get bathroom sealant looking nice? I was taught to do it with a wet finger but there must be a better way of doing it so that it looks better? Are there any tools out there for the job?

"Hi, in order do have a nice looking silicone around the bathroom you will need a ruber angled silicone board and some window cleaning product. First, you apply the silicone all around with the gun, then come with the wet finger in order to have all the gaps filled. Then you spray the window or whatever cleaning product (this makes the rubber slide nice and easy and prevent the silicone to spread all around) then you come with the rubber board for a uniform and nice joint."

"You can get a little sealant profile tool, many places do them but b&q do them for about £2.50
It gives a perfect even profile to the sealant.
A bad sealant finish can ruin a decent bathroom install."

"A weak mixture of washing up liquid in a spray bottle, when the sealant is on spray that on it. Then plenty of kitchen roll and a proper sealant tool. Good luck"

"There’s a good sealant tool kit from Screwfix.
Costs about £13.
Well worth the money.
Get yourself a plant spray bottle. Add a little washing up liquid to water. Run the silicone around and then spray before tooling.
Have a few practice goes first."

"Hi. To get a nice finish on the sealant you can get a mastic finger. It's a plastic finger to use with a spray of soapy water. Hope that helps, Gavin. gpg home improvements"

"Personally i am using special tool which u can get anywhere, just ask for "Vitrex Silicone Remover & Finisher". You can get from Toolstation for £8.99.

Apparently i am using any spray liquid such as "window cleaner" after applying part of silicon then use a tool for nice finish.

U can still use your finger tool:), usually for beginners, but u cant get proper finish sometimes."
