Ask your QuestionWhat gas safety considerations need to be considered for having a boiler fitted in a bathroom?
Asked by Cheryl on 20th Jun 2022"Boiler must be installed in zone three, away from any risk of coming into contact with water. The main electrical spur for the boiler must be located outside of the bathroom completely, and the boiler should ideally be contained in a cupboard."

Answered on 21st Jun 2022 - Member since May 2022 - report"There are no gas safety issues with a boiler being installed in a bathroom, as long as it is built in a purpose built cupboard, away from water spray with enough clearance for servicing."
Answered on 22nd Jun 2022 - Member since Jul 2017 - report"Boilers can be fitted in bathrooms providing that they are enclosed in a purpose-built compartment which allows plenty of access for future repair and maintenance. these clearances are defined within the manufacturers' literature which is supplied with the appliance. Whoever may fit this for you, if at all, shall have to ensure that it is compliant and that the boiler is notified under Building Regs as meeting Part L1."
