Electric to gas hob conversion

I am moving to a house that currently has an electric hob, how much approximately would it cost to convert to a gas hob?

"If the house already has gas, it’s usually not too expensive.

You’re roughly looking at:
• £100–£500 for the gas hob itself (depending on brand and size)
• £100–£200 for a Gas Safe engineer to fit it

If there’s already a gas point under the hob, the total is often around £200–£400.

If a new gas pipe needs running to the hob, that can add £50–£300, so more like £300–£700 overall.

If the house doesn’t have gas at all, that’s when it gets pricey — getting a new gas connection can be £800–£2,000+.

All gas work has to be done by a Gas Safe engineer."

"It depends on how far the GAs supply feed is from your hobs location. The further the feed required to connect it, the more pipework required so the higher the cost."
