Drying out a bathroom wall around a sink

We have water on the walls around the tiling on the wall around our bathroom sink. We want to paint the walls with bathroom paint and preferably would have a little more tiling first, but am unsure as to how we can dry the wall out or if we would have to hire a number of tradespeople to do this job, so was looking for advice if at all possible.

"I would suggest you find the source of the water first as all you would be doing is hiding the problem and making it worse, I would suggest you get someone out to assess the problem and advise rather than self diagnose."

"Before you paint you have to apply first layer paint and the best one is b.I.n you can find it in layland or b&q use it first and after 20 minutes you can paint your place"

"Hello
First thing we need to locate and eliminate the source of damp on the wall. Then it have to be dried naturally or with humidifier to speed up the process
Some companies will do the job from start to finish. Sometime it is cheaper to find different trades your self, I personally not recommend it as it is not as easy as it may sound."

"Hello there I would suggest like the other tradesmen have pointed out and find first of all where the damp is coming from. It maybe lack of ventilation within the room and may just be condensation causing this issue. You could hire a dehumidifier to remove as much of the water as possible to help dry out the damp in the walls to. A full investigation would be required to ensure what work is done will solve the problems. To ensure it does not happen again. Kind regards Craig"

"Hi if it only surface splash water it should dry out in a few days and be ready for tiling if it very damp it could be other factors it could be penetrating damp, the walls may need external works and if there is a leak it will need attention by a Plumer also if the walls are plaster in bonding it could be holding water so quite a few thing to investigate"

"I would advise letting us plumbers to come at site and inspect if there are no pipes leaking,or chances are more tht tiles will lt go soon or letter paint will pill off"

"Rent a dehumidifier and that will draw all the wetness out of the wall or turn heating up to full for few hours"
